Flashback Hotflash

The weekend newspaper meant only one thing to me as a kid: comics.  Not the Superman or Dick Tracy kind, the funnies.

I loved pulling them out of the thick bundle and reading each one over a bowl of Life cereal. Or graham cracker cereal (Did anyone else smash up graham crackers in a bowl, pour milk over and call it "cereal"? No?).

And it wasn't just the funnies. The back page always had a Word Search or  Word Jumble or easy crossword puzzle.  Don't forget the obligatory maze, which always seemed to be the same one every week.

Snoopy, Ziggy, Calvin, Cathy....so many to love.  I would cut especially hilarious ones out and tack them to my wall or tape them to my spiral notebook for school.

Here are a few I remember - did I miss one of your favorites??
