If you haven't seen the quirky film Whiplash yet, I can highly recommend it.
Tough to watch in some spots (an abusive music teacher is one of the main characters), I enjoyed the journey and absolutely loved the soundtrack. One of those movies that you have no idea where it's headed, which I find rare. In the same flavor of "In a World" or "Little Miss Sunshine", you are taken behind the curtain of a lifestyle many of us will never know.
Really if you are a music lover of any genre you will appreciate this movie, but if you are a jazz fan, get ready to geek out.
Still showing in many theaters but I purchased it via iTunes. I think my teenage kids will watch it at some point but most kids under the age of thirteen might be upset by, or not understand, the movie;s theme.
