Flashback Hotflash

Holy 1986!

Stumbled across this on Netflix the other day and it is such a quintessential 80's movie!

Besides the great plot of mid-thirties, successful New Yorkers tying the knot, moving to DC, having kids and...well, I won't give it ALL away...this movie is an absolute time capsule.

The airport scenes.   The wardrobe and hairstyles.  And the perfect theme song "Coming around Again" by Carly Simon.

In addition to Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson as leads, you've got Stockard Channing, Jeff Daniels and Catherine O'Hara. I mean, come ON.  Trivia nugget: the little girl in the movie is Meryl's daughter, Mamie Gummer. And yes, that is who you think it is playing an armed robber the clip above!

If you're not on Netflix I'm sure you can get it at your local library.  Either way, it's a great flashback to a Mike Nichols/Nora Ephron production!
