I saw a story about this new LEGO kit and must admit the finished products really caught my eye.
I did a little digging and discovered that LEGO has their own sort of crowd-sourcing project called
LEGO Ideas, where fans can submit ideas, track projects under consideration and even see which ones made it to store shelves, like these birds.
I think they are quite beautiful and there is something lifelike that their creator, gardener and bird enthusiast Thomas Poulsom, was able to imbibe. See more of his creations on his Flickr page here.
Not sure they will make it to my family room bookshelf, but would be fun in the office.
