Meanwhile, in outer space.....

After just getting home from seeing the mind-blowing movie Interstellar, I felt compelled to share this short but captivating TED Talk from Will Marshall at Planet Labs I saw the other day.

The project he describes is amazing in many ways. But one of the most unique things about his "tiny satellites" project is it's mission to democratize access to the real-time information he and his team are gathering.

Not familiar with TED Talks? TED stands for Technology, Entertainment and Design - Click here for their website, where they describe themselves as a "non-profit devoted to spreading ideas".  The short (usually around ten to fifteen minutes) talks, recorded at TED conferences around the world, are cataloged for anyone to watch anytime for free.  I subscribe to their podcast, where I always learn something new and interesting, all in twenty minutes or less!
