I've learned from my weekly volunteer post at The Art Institute of Chicago that art comes in many forms. What is interesting or beautiful to one person is dumb or pointless to another. What one person will stare at for twenty minutes, another walks right by.
While The Art Institute houses iconic pieces from Picasso, O'Keeffe and Monet, it's always fun to see new artwork "hit the market" and what strikes a chord with people these days.
This article on MyModernMet.com describes one such exhibit. I must have tripped across the story three or four times last week and thought I'd pass it along. Take a look and if you fall in love with one; they are for sale in the $2,500 to $22,000 (!)
Better hurry, this gallery's exhibit closes in November. But the thirty or so Monets at The Art Institute are always patiently awaiting your gaze on the second floor.
