Saturation point reached

Artisanal ice cubes at Second State restaurant in Washington, D.C.
Artisanal.  Curated. Small-batch.  Bespoke. Hand-crafted.

I think we may have gone 'round the bend on this one.

These overly-flowery description of  new shops, websites or products have a whiff of that "dot com" feeling to them. You know, all-concept-and-no-substance.

I'm sure some of them deliver. For instance, I don't think Etsy would exist without this new language.  In fact, the hipster-y, vintage, small-batch vibe is a whole new genre, speaking to the over-produced, big box shopping experience.   I get it.

But I, for one, have reached my saturation point.  This article captures my fatigue perfectly.
