post-vacation debrief

I'm very intrigued at the idea from this post from Une Femme d'une Certain Age that focuses on the writer's travel wardrobe recap.

Previous posts had focused on the packing list (and multiple edits thereof) of what sounds like a fabulous trip to Hong Kong and Phuket.  But I thought this latest entry might be the most useful for future planning.

We've all seen blogs/websites featuring packing lists.  I've used them myself and found some very helpful tips and tidbits. I'm assuming these writers basically did the same thing: boiled down what worked/what didn't before they came up with what they suggested.

But I have never taken the time to do this for myself.  I just rely on memory.

I think a simple notebook would suffice, especially since I'll be the only one reading it.  A running list, with notes in the margins is really all you need.  I'll do one for my next ski trip over the holidays and report back.

How about you? What have you found helpful for packing?
