When you hear about data collection and analysis, most might think of clipboards and charts. I also think boring.
But Giorgia Lupi (Italian living in New York City) and Stefanie Posavec (an American living in London) are two women looking to change that perception. Both work with data and use an illustrative approach to show how data collection is really a part of everyday life.
Every Monday for year, the two women started new agreed-upon data collection. Then each took their data and illustrated the results in their own unique way. Their format: one side of a post card for the final "charts" and the other to provide a key on how to read the illustration, as well as the collection process.
Take a look at some of their results. Even when the subject matter is rather arbitrary (a week of compliments) the results are quite beautiful.
