scramble

Sorry Sadie! That's not for you

This recipe for home-made Chex mix, passed down from my mother-in-law, is worth every minute of the process.  Super savory and extra crunchy from a slow toast in the oven, it signals the beginning of the holiday season for our house.
Scramble

2 lbs mixed salted nuts
1 12oz box Spoon Sized Shredded Wheat
1 10oz box Cheerios
1 10 oz box Rice Chex
1 16oz bag pretzels (any size/shape)

Mix all above in two big bowls or a big roasting pan that is oven-proof.

2 cups vegetable oil
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp season salt

Mix and stir into big bowls, roasting pan etc. used above.  Make sure evenly coated.
Bake at 250F for about 2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.  Can half recipe and use any types of cereal you like!
