This article via FastCoExist.com made me look.
A quick read claiming that Africa could generate 20% of it's energy from burning trash - it's own or from other countries. No, it' not pretty. But I'd much rather read about how 27 million homes (at a minimum!) across the continent could be powered by waste than read about another landfill that's at capacity.
