tech push back

(via dinneralovestory.com)

Of course you are reading this post on a laptop/iPad/smartphone.

It seems en vogue to complain about technology, but I am glad there is a strong and steady push back of burying our heads in screens.

And it's no wonder we are all confused about how to feel: No less than 24 hours after my high-school freshman had been issued his mandated school iPad,  a speaker at the mandatory fall sports meeting warned of the dangers of too much screen time (both physiologically and psychologically).

Our generation in particular will be the only ones who remember "life before".  Its up to us to teach our children to push back from what seems like an increasingly propaganda-level promotion of technology and connect to those around them.

I know they are sick of hearing it so best just to show it sometimes.  Removed and NotOnAppStore are two visual and haunting reminders of how one can miss the little and big moments in life.
