While we all politely humor the filler programming on PBS's Masterpiece until Downton Abbey returns for it's final season, this BBC One series could really be something good.
Definitely a little more rock and roll. And the Harlequin Romance-y lead actor may/may not work as a British soldier just returning from fighting in the American Revolution. The Wall Street Journal's review notes the show and it's "oft-shirtless star, Aiden Turner, are set to send Americans swooning".
The series (which a remake of a huge hit for PBS in the 1970's) just ended in the UK, where it drew in a huge viewership. Starts here Sunday, June 21 on PBS's Masterpiece.
