Here's the Thing
Yes, yes. I know. There is a lot of baggage associated with Alec Baldwin. But I'm here to tell you about a project where I think a hidden talent shines; interviewer.
That baritone, smooth voice will captivate you no matter the topic. Lucky for us, the topics are excellent, insightful and I find the discussions sprinkled with little surprises about both the guest an the host. Like this nugget: When asked about the most important things in life, a quiet Baldwin responds, very seriously and thoughtfully: a good reading lamp.
Although there are a lot of celebrity interviews (Julie Andrews, Michael Douglas, Chris Rock....) there are also great discussions on social issues - like one that captivated me recently titled "Nuanced Policing", which introduced new ideas from "two people with years of street experience - both with compelling visions for improving the broken relationship between police and communities."
If you don't want to download the podcast app and listen on your phone or tablet,
just link here to go directly to the WNYC website, where each episode is listed and awaits your click.
If nothing else, click through to see the very "Zoolander" photo Baldwin decided to use for the logo.
