I don't know about you, but Quincy was one of my favorite TV shows. I got to thinking about it the other day when my cousin mentioned she had stumbled across it channel surfing.

First of all Quincy, the first Medical Examiner I ever heard about, lived on a houseboat.  A HOUSEBOAT! As a middle school-er landlocked in the Midwest, I did not even know that was a possibility.

I always felt very smug if I could figure out "who done-it" or noticed a clue early on in the episode.

Always a mystery to be solved, a courtroom to appear in and, at the end of most episodes, a date waiting for him back at the houseboat.

Looking back, there is something very honest about the lead character being a "man of a certain age", not exactly your Hollywood Hunk.  And who knows about any of the medical jargon.

It all seemed very serious and legit at the time.
