Have reached the light-blue phase of a book called "The Bone Clocks", which I started to read because I found a note to myself on my phone under a list titled "books to read". Fine. But I'm about one-third in, and although I found the first part pretty compelling, I am losing interest fast.
Making things harder, I have a few orchid-colored books in the queue that were suggested by a reader of this blog. "Mr. Darcy takes a Wife: Pride and Prejudice Continues", "Darcy & Elizabeth" and "The Darcy's: A Ruling Passion" by Linda Berdoll have been out since 2004 but I've never read them. Sequels to Jane Austen's iconic novels, they promise to further the story of those beloved characters.
Love this Amazon book description of the series:
Reader beware: The faint of heart better hang onto your bonnets,
for your sensibilities are in for a bumpy (and racy) ride.
And a quick update on a book I mentioned in a previous post:
"The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern was a great read. The characters, and the world they live in, are very original, almost in a Harry Potter-ish way. I can also see it being made into a wildly interesting movie.
