Serial

The New Yorker calls Serial "the podcast we've been waiting for"

I'm not quite sure if I can properly convey how strangely excited I am to share this with you!

Some of you may have heard of this already, but this entered my world recently and I feel compelled to make sure you know about it.

First launched about a month ago, Serial is a spin-off podcast of NPR's This American Life. It follows one true story over the course of a "season", with each episode released weekly to heighten suspense.  Weeks one through seven are already available to hear at www.serialpodcast.org.

This first season tracks the murder of a high school girl in 1999, her now convicted ex-boyfriend and many, many plot twists in between. As a listener, you are taken through the trial via narrator Sarah Koenig, who patiently explains and teases evidence of the case.  But you are also now privy to information those in the jury box never heard. And just when you think you've got things figured out....well, you get it.

Word is out, as this podcast is being listened to by over 800,000 people a week! And  if you become totally absorbed, you can visit the website and view actual pieces of evidence discussed on the show and used in the trial.

So file this under "everything old is new again", since this is as close to a 1940's radio show as you can get.
