Thank me or Curse me....





You're going to have to set aside a few minutes before you go to this website; it's addicting. The company has been around for a few years (even featured on a reality TV show in 2011), but I just started following them in the past few months.   Even if you're not like me and your favorite class in Journalism school wasn't marketing, I think you might get hooked.

If Shark Tank and QVC had a baby, this would be it. This website not only sells new products but allows readers to influence the process of newly invented items at different stages of their development,  helping to pick the price or even writing the tag line that will be used when it's brought to market.  In fact, anyone who participates in the final products development is paid for their input.

I'm currently following the development of SoundOuts, genius ear buds that know when they're in your ears and pause the music when you take them out.

CBS Saturday Morning did a segment about Quirky back in March that tells the whole story. You could also follow Quirky's twitter feed, which takes you down other rabbit holes.
